Terms of Use

These Terms of Use explain the rules for using ClearCalc Finance. By using the site, you agree to use the calculators and articles for general educational purposes only.

Last updated: May 18, 2026

Educational purpose

ClearCalc Finance publishes calculators, formulas, examples, and guides that help explain common personal finance math. Calculator outputs are estimates based on the values entered and the assumptions stated on each page. They are not guarantees, offers, approvals, quotes, or predictions.

No professional advice

The site does not provide financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, mortgage, insurance, credit, debt, or other professional advice. You should not rely on calculator outputs or articles as the only basis for financial decisions. Personal situations can involve facts, laws, fees, risks, and product terms that a general educational site cannot evaluate.

Your responsibility for inputs

You are responsible for the numbers and assumptions you enter. Small changes to APR, fees, tax assumptions, term length, inflation, return assumptions, or payment timing can materially change a result. Always review actual contracts, disclosures, account statements, lender terms, and official documents before making decisions.

Acceptable use

Intellectual property

The site design, text, calculator explanations, page structure, and original content are provided by ClearCalc Finance unless otherwise stated. You may link to our public pages in a fair and non-misleading way. Reuse of substantial content should preserve attribution and must not imply endorsement or a professional relationship.

Third-party links and advertising

The site may include links to external resources and may display advertising. External sites and advertisers are responsible for their own content, offers, privacy practices, cookies, and terms. A link or ad does not mean ClearCalc Finance endorses the product, service, or website.

Accuracy and availability

We aim to explain formulas and assumptions clearly, but errors, omissions, stale information, or technical issues can occur. The website may be changed, updated, interrupted, or removed without notice. We do not promise that the site will always be available or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, ClearCalc Finance is not responsible for losses or damages arising from use of the site, reliance on estimates, third-party links, advertising, technical interruptions, or user-entered assumptions. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some limits may not apply to every user.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use as the site changes. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the updated terms.

Official documents control

If a calculator, guide, or example conflicts with official documents, the official documents should control. This includes loan estimates, closing disclosures, account agreements, leases, insurance policies, tax forms, payoff statements, cardholder agreements, provider statements, court documents, government publications, and local rules. ClearCalc Finance cannot review those documents for you and does not create a professional-client relationship.

Use of examples and outputs

Examples on the site use simplified numbers to teach a concept. You may use calculator outputs for personal learning, comparison, and note-taking, but you are responsible for checking whether the assumptions match your real situation. You may not present a calculator result as an official quote, approval, guarantee, professional opinion, or endorsement by ClearCalc Finance.
